The-Rule-of-Never-Less,-Never-More--And-Why-You-Should-Follow-It

The Rule of Never Less, Never More- And Why You Should Follow It

Going the extra mile has always been the default advice for many people – until recently

But did you know that it’s possible to do more and less at the same time?

Most successful people believe in working smarter, not harder. A great example of this is the Rule of Never Less, Never More.

Let’s take a look.

Never Less, Never More

Never Less, Never More

The idea here is simple. You reach your long-term goals by breaking them down into a series of small yet consistent milestones.

Once you accomplish your minimum requirement for the day, you stop there.

For instance, if you want to expand your client base, you’ll want to reach out to different prospects. When you apply the Never Less, Never More rule, you can set a daily limit of three calls.

Every day, you call no less (and no more) than three people. That’s it. Because guess what? Exceeding that number could be counterproductive.

Why Doing More Is Not Recommended

According to experts, going the extra mile isn’t always ideal. Especially not in this context.

Based on the above example, making more than three calls a day can mean less time to prepare for additional questions and objections.

Chances are you won’t have the same energy and enthusiasm to deliver your pitch. You might miss out on important details because you’re rushing to call another potential client.

There’s also a chance that you won’t be able to answer questions comprehensively due to a lack of preparation.

Simply put, the more calls you make, the more likely you are to burn down and burn out

Rationale Behind the Limits

In case you have yet to notice, the lower limit of Never Less protects the process of reaching your deadlines and targets.

It reminds you of what you need to accomplish, regardless of the circumstances. Since you have a daily target, you are more empowered to push through and deliver.

More importantly, it teaches perseverance and consistency, which are keys to achieving any goal.

Meanwhile, the upper limit of Never More protects you. It’s the boundary that will keep you sane and will protect your well-being

“Never More” preserves your energy and makes you more likely to stay the course, thus allowing you to hit your Never Less, day in and day out.

Applying the Rule in a Remote Workplace

Say you want to be consistent in mentoring and training your employees.

Applying the Never Less, Never More rule, you can schedule two individual check-ins with your remote employees in a week.

That’s it. Don’t even think about adding one more -even if you have extra time.

With this approach, you will make steady progress without sacrificing your well-being.

These, among others, will separate you from other business owners who get drained and burned out early in the game because they have yet to set their Never Less, Never More rule.
