When working with people from another part of the world its easy to feel apprehension when needing to entrust someone with intellectual property, your business knowledge and confidential information. Remote Staff is aware of this, and we understand that in order for clients to have the confidence in giving real responsibilities, we must ensure that they are working with real people.
This is why we visit applicant’s homes to validate their identity and addresses. We perform background checks on work history by interviewing the people these applicants have worked with in the past. We are also able to provide the added measure of acquiring police clearances (ensuring that contractors have had no prior criminal history), but for an additional fee of $10.
While these measures do not guarantee 100% that all relationships between staff and client are harmonious and worry-free, we aim to prevent unfortunate situations as much as possible. Because we have an actual presence in the Philippines, we are also able to enforce notices, implement preventive measures or assist the client on local Philippines legal matters if needed.
All hired contractors should have a good working computer, the appropriate hardware and software needed to do their jobs properly, USB Headset with microphone and webcam. We do not allow staff to work with only an iPad or other small mobile devices such as eMachines.
A Remote Staff contractor’s internet connection is their lifeline working from home, so we make sure that they have a subscription to aDSL or Cable connection (No Wi-fi, as it is unstable) with a minimum download speed of 1.0mbps and a 0.35mbps upload speed
We also require all contractors to have a private room with proper office furniture and ventilation where they could focus and work uninterrupted. Noise pollution must be kept to a minimum, free from anything that might distract from work or make speaking over Skype difficult.
